Burr Morse

burrBurr Morse is a seventh-generation Vermont hill farmer. He and his wife, Betsy, presently own and operate Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks in East Montpelier, Vermont. His new book blends Burr’s recent tales with a peek at a few of his little secrets. Find out how his life began “like a drop of sap” and expanded to “full buckets” of the finest grade maple syrup. Yesterday we pulled into the Morse Family Farm…. Being just a three party band of travelers we asked if there might be a tour…. Unfortunately we were told by a very busy individual that the tours were only reserved for the tour buses… disappointed we began to walk away, but as luck would have it, we were approached by a very humble and unassuming man that said: “I’d be glad to show you around the Farm”. Eagerly we accepted, and it was not only until we inquired about his role in the Farm that we learned we were talking to Burr Morse…

As we talked with Burr it was if we were talking to an old friend…It was inspiring to learn about his father, wife and sons, and their love of farm, family and sugaring….

At the end of the day we came away with good understanding of sugaring but more importantly we met a new friend…

That day we purchased both of his books and are thoroughly enjoying them…

From our California home we will strongly encourage our friends and family visit and look up Burr Morse…

All the best Randy and Susan…

Randy, I’m glad you had a good experience at Morse Farm. I’m not at all surprised that Burr gave you a tour, he never want someone to be turned down at his farm! I hope you had a maple creemee and brought home some of Burr’s kettle corn!
