Archer Mayor

Archer Mayor is the 2004 winner of the New England Booksellers Association award for best fiction—the first time a writer of crime literature has been so honored. His Vermont-based series featuring detective Joe Gunther, which the Chicago Tribune describes as “the best police procedurals being written in America.”
Archer lives in Newfane, Vermont and aside from writing he is a death investigator for Vermont's Chief Medical Examiner, a detective for the Windham County Sheriff's Department, and has 15 years experience as a volunteer EMT/firefighter.
Archer arrives at Bear Pond Books every November to read from his newest Joe Gunther mystery. In the front row there is always a group of women who show up together each year for his event.
