Using Story to Navigate Trauma with Authors Ann Braden, Lindsey Stoddard, and Therapist/Educator Sarah Rosenthal, MSW

Ann Braden, Vermont author of debut novel The Benefits of Being an Octopus (a "heartbreaking, beautifully written book about finding one’s voice ... that can help build empathy and understanding.” -- School Library Journal, Starred Review) and Lindsey Stoddard, Vermont author of Just LIke Jackie and her newest novel Right As Rain (“...an emotional exploration of grief, guilt, and the uplifting power of community”-- School LIbrary Journal) read from their novels and discuss why it is so important to help connect kids with mentors when they are experiencing grief and trauma. Licensed therapist and educator Sarah Rosenthal will provide necessary background information and discuss the mental health landscape for kids in Vermont, and discuss ways to support students through difficult times.
