Special Orders, Returns, Store Credit & Reader's Club

Special Orders:

We are happy to special order a book for you if we do not have it in stock. Special orders that are available from our distributor usually take about a week to come in. If we must go to a publisher, the time for shipment of the book varies.  You can search for books to order on this website - please note the books found here are both books on the shelves and books at our distributors. If your book is still in print, it should show up in the search! If you have trouble finding it in our search engine, try searching by the EAN or ISBN - these numbers should be listed in the publisher's description of the book or over the barcode printed on the book's cover. You can also order over the phone at 802-229-0774. 

You are obligated to buy a book you special order if it is not part of our regular stock.

Returns:

New books and unopened merchandise can be returned for exchange or store credit up to 30 days after purchase. Used books cannot be returned.

Store Credit:

Store credits are issued for returns and for used book purchases. We keep credits on record at the front counter. Credits are good for one year after the last date of use

Reader's Club:

Join 11,000 local members! The Bear Pond Books Reader's Club is a free program that rewards you for shopping local. For every $100 you spend in the store on new books, you get $10 back in store credit (to be used within 6 months). Sign up at the store or call 802-229-0774.

Seniors may opt to receive get 10% off all purchases of new books (not applicable to used or remaindered books) instead of the frequent buyer program.
