Susan Hill is the author of the Black Beauty My Readers and many other beginning readers, including Peter Pan: Lost and Found. She lives in Portland, Oregon.

Michael Hague has illustrated some of the best-loved works of children's literature, including The Velveteen Rabbit, The Wizard of Oz, and The Teddy Bears' Picnic. His lush, detailed watercolors have earned him a dedicated following and a reputation as one of America's foremost illustrators of books for children. He lives with his wife, Kathleen, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Sir James Matthew Barrie was a sometimes journalist and playwright who won instant immortality with the production of his play Peter Pan in 1904. The play was turned into the book Peter and Wendy in 1911. Barrie died in 1937.
