About the Author
WILIAM HEYEN was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1940. A former Senior Fulbright Lecturer in American Literature in Germany, and recipient of Guggenheim, National Endowment for the Arts, American Academy & Institute of Arts & Letters awards, he has published more than twenty books including Long Island Light (1979), Erika: Poems of the Holocaust (1984), Crazy Horse in Stillness (1996), Shoah Train (2003), and The Rope (2003). He edited September 11, 2001: American Writers Respond. He is Professor of English/Poet in Residence Emeritus at SUNY Brockport.
